.:Judgement:.
A World Apart
She walked alone along the broken landscape, the ground shattered underneath her feet. Remains of broken bodies and crumbled lives lay all around her. Crimson blood flooded around her feet and she heard the anguished screams of those still left alive. She uttered no sound. She felt nothing. The wars were so routine to her that she didn’t even care any more. The severed head of a baby’s teddy bear washed by her and she dug her hand into the blood to pick it up. The face stared solemnly at her and she chucked it back into the pool of blood in anger.

Forgotten
A mother held her lifeless child in her frail hands, her tears washing into the waterfalls of blood. She turned away, feeling the memories rush back to her, remembering herself as she held her brother, his body frail and limp in her hands. She tried to push the thoughts away but they crashed into her mind, cruel and unforgiving. She remembered her own tears, bitter and damp, sliding down her cheeks as she embraced her twin for the last time before being forced to let him slide into the blood…so much blood. So much death and destruction.

Reminisce
“Selene…” she heard the words inside her head, pleading to be saved, pleading for life. She shook her head, trying to make the memories withdraw from her mind. But it was useless, they burst into her head with an even bigger force, causing her to sink into the blood, sticky and warm against her skin. She saw clouds, silver in the pale blue of the morning sky. She watched the sun as it floated across the atmosphere, throwing its rays across the vast landscape of endless crystal blue. Cheery faces broke the water, filling the air with childish laughter.

Devastation She saw her brother, happy and smiling, running toward her, hands outstretched. But before he could reach her he fell, face crashing into the water, liquid in his throat, drowning, struggling. Selene barreled toward him, pushing aside through the dense substance around her. She didn’t notice as it turned red, didn’t feel the distinct smell of metal, didn’t taste the bitterness as it flew into her mouth while she ran. All she noticed was her brother, sinking away from her slowly. She quickened her pace but he just seemed so far away. No matter how fast she went she couldn’t catch him. And then he was gone altogether, swallowed up by the crimson water, and she had lost him again.

Apocalypse
And then she noticed the blood around her. She was swimming in it, surrounded on all sides. The fires of hell raged out of the ground, she saw people around her exploding, their bodies disintegrated in seconds, and then, the demons. Their eyes flashing madly and their rotting bodies smelling of decay. Slowly, they marched toward her. Selene choked and screamed. Screamed because the world was coming to an end. Screamed because she was still alive. And screamed for her brother, lost in the chaos, all alone.

Uncovered
Her screams echoed all around, reverberating into the heavens. The demons stopped and looked at her, their faced masked with confusion. Her dark blue eyes flashed red and in one split second the demons were on her, tearing into her skin. She felt their claws on her but there was no pain, just the dark, sweet ecstasy of her blood flowing out of her. She felt so calm, so tranquil, so serene. And then she grabbed the nearest demon and bashed its head into her knee, loving the feel of its body as it felt limp in her fist. There was no one in the world who could stop her.

Annhilation
Selene pushed out of the pile of dead demons, her body and clothes stained with their blood. She looked around her, smiling at the destruction she had caused. And then she saw him, floating past her, his face in the water. Her smile disappeared and she swam to her brother, cradling him in her arms, crying scarlet tears. And then the anger flared inside her and she looked at him for the last time. Kissing his forehead softly, she let him float away into the horizon. They would pay for her brother’s death. Every single one of them.

Insanity
Her eyes flew open and she realized that she was drowning in the blood. It flowed into her nose, her lungs, everywhere. She could not breathe. Then she saw the demons, surrounding her, glaring with unforgiving eyes. She stood, coughing and sputtering to rid herself of the liquid inside her, and in one swift movement, grabbed the nearest demon. Her hands clasped around its bald head, ripping it out ferociously. Tendons snapped loudly and an unnatural wave of green blood washed over her. Blind to the gruesome sight, she proceeded to grab another demon, again ripping out its head. The monsters wailed in pain at their lost comrades and rushed toward her.

End Game
The demons were on her, pushing her into the pool of blood, her face going under, swallowing the metallic taste, staining her face red. She struggled against them, pushing, screaming, her mouth filling with the filthy substance. Then she stopped. All power went out of her and she lay on the ground, face content. And in the final moment of her life she saw him, watching her silently. Her hand reached out to touch him one last time but he was too far away. She let her hand drop into the water with a shattering splash, loud against the quiet of the field. And in the light clouds of heaven, she found him.
